All descriptions are from left to right, top to bottom unless other wise indicated
On the front side of the box there is a panel which contains the following items.
The Top slot is for an interactive card. not yet used.
The bottom slot is the slot for your sky viewing card. The card is inserted with the gold contacts facing down.
Green /red for power on /off
Yellow for message
Green for telephone line activation
The first section of buttons is arranged like a ring.
the top button, forming the top segment of the ring is arrow up
the bottom button, forming the bottom segment of the ring is arrow down
the left button, forming the left segment of the ring is arrow left
the right button, forming the right segment of the ring is arrow right.
the centre button is select.
The next section of buttons, is in an odd shape.
The first buttons are
Information then a little to the right is the power off button.
The next 2 buttons are a little offset, to the right, below the information button.

The final item on the front panel is the remote control status light. This flashes red when a button is pressed on the remote control.

On the backside of the box you have all the ports.
The first 4 ports are arranged in a straight line.
The first port is the Telephone line.
This is the standard telephone line socket. It is always female.
Connect the phone line before you connect the Sky digital box to the mains.
Don't leave a phone plug on the ground, if the other end of it is connected
to the phone system.
If there is a small child around they will pick it up and
put it in their mouth. Children tend not to like 75 volts of a shock.
The next 3 ports are:
TV aerial (Female TV aerial to allow pass through of TV aerial signal in to your TV)
RF 1 (Male TV aerial out)
RF 2 (Male 9v dc 75 am max out for use with accessories)
The TV aerial Is always Female.
RF 1 and RF 2 are always Male.
Make sure to connect all RF ports before connecting the mains.
The next 2 ports are the Phono ports, they are arranged vertically.
Phono L (Female white in colour outputs audio to left channel of stereo system)
Phono R (Female red in colour outputs audio to right channel of stereo system)
These ports are 2 small round ports about a centimetre in diameter.
Make sure to connect any stereo system before connecting the mains.
The next 2 ports are the scart sockets. They are arranged vertically.
scart 1 (Female to your vcr)
scart 2 (Female to your TV)
These ports are used for connecting your TV and vcr to the Sky Digital Box
The Left-hand edge of the port is straight, while the right hand edge is angular in shape.
The port has 2 rows of 10 holes.
Please make sure to connect all scart sockets before you connect the mains power.
The next port is the F port (signal from dish in)
This port is threaded. the cable from the dish is screwed into the box with a small little
nut.
This port is always female.
Make sure that the Sky digital box is connected to the dish before it is connected to the mains.
Rs 232 (Serial port disabled)
This is exactly like the Serial or com port on your pc.
It has 2 nuts on either side where you can connect a Serial cable.
This port is always female.
The final port on the box is the Power (AC power in)
This port is always mail for obvious reasons.
It has 2 pins in it.
Make sure that the lead is connected to the Sky digital box
before you connect the other end to the mains power. The mains power should be connected
last.
